As the Crow Flies

This song was written and recorded in one day while I was staying with dear friends up north in the country house of Crowmallie. I play every instrument on the track. It is a straight forward love song written to my partner, Artist, Ginny Elston. In this song I allowed myself to simply let the music and lyrics emerge without filtering myself. The song has echoes of songs I wrote in my youth. It’s simplicity and straight forward nature is what made me chose to release it. My influence at the time would be John Steinbeck, he is my favourite author and reading his earnest directness has shaped the way I live my life and create art.
