The one man band Astroturf Inspector returns with his new single Luxury Boredom, another slice of warm indie pop to follow up on his debut single User Error released earlier in 2021.
Yet again the multi instrumentalist provides a catchy and accessible song recorded entirely on his iPhone during lockdown. The singer seemingly contradicts the upbeat sound of the song with raw and honest lyrics that touch on mental health in an ever growing digital world before finishing on a positive note that acknowledges the opportunity for growth as a result of challenges.
The single is accompanied by 2 B-Sides; a cover of label mates Maranta's latest single Miss Dupé and an acoustic version of Astroiturf Inspector's first single User Error.
lyrics
Though they say it's ok today, you can put your foot forward,
Throw your hands in the air, and exclaim, that you don't wanna move from your bed today,
But it's still hard to find that voice, and difficult to tap into,
Hidden crevices, that don't see much of life but you,
A tired voice that sings, with emotion, will echo in eternity,
We are all in a panicked rush just to get our feet forward,
Work our hands to the bone, just to say, that we ticked all the things off our list today,
And it's so hard to find the time, where there are no disturbances,
And boredom amplifies, our thoughts that are never realised,
A tired voice that sings, with emotion, will echo in eternity,

I've always loved Nonotices work, this is a real powerful release, full of atmosphere, tension, weight and calm ambience. Impossible to pick favourite track. PadraigC
